I am currently writing up an Ethnography of the implementation of the Forest Rights Act in India. I am looking at it from the perspective of natural resource governance and as exploration of the possibilities of local democracy in practice. This sits within a wider perspective on the impacts of natural resource shortages and natural resource speculation on vulnerable, environmentally-dependent communities.
