Thesis Title: Rethinking the Politics of Identity at the Intersection of Religion and Gender in Turkey
About
I obtained a degree of BA in Political Science and Sociology from Istanbul Bilgi University and received an MPhil degree in Political Theory at the University of Oxford. Currently I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Politics and International Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
I am interested in the politics of identity. In particular, identity-based political claims on the grounds of gender and religion form the subject-matter of my academic endeavour. My research interests include critical theory and social theoretical ideas so as to deconstruct liberal, democratic and post-structuralist criticisms of identity politics.
